Sibos, held this year in Geneva from 26-29 September, is the annual conference, exhibition and networking event organised by SWIFT for the financial industry. Sibos is recognized as the premier business forum for the global financial community to debate and collaborate in the areas of payments, securities, cash management and trade.
Exhibitors at Sibos are limited to financial institutions, SWIFT partners, or other relevant industry players with an established relationship with SWIFT. With the recent announcement of Capgemini as Bluechain’s Preferred Systems Integration Partner, Bluechain attended at the Capgemini stand. This year’s conference theme “Transforming the landscape” resonates with the way Bluechain is tackling the payments space globally.
Bluechain was involved in a number of important events during the three days of the event:
- The World Payments Report was released by Capgemini and BNP Paribas highlighting corporate demands for digitization and the need for banks to collaborate with FinTechs as a key strategy to gain advantage in transaction services. Bluechain was one of the organisations that participated in the executive interviews that form the research base for this report. You can download a copy of the report here.
- Bluechain presented to a number of international tier-1 banks, with whom we will be meeting again at Money 20/20 in Las Vegas later this month.
- Bluechain spoke with a multinational networking and telecommunications organisation about applications for Bluechain technology in the developing world where banking and payments infrastructure is limited. The traction we see with these types of organisations highlights the strength of Bluechain’s strategy to be a global player in the payments space whatever the local payments paradigm.
Overall, Sibos was a highly successful event for Bluechain. The partnerships that we develop through interactions at events like Sibos and Money 20/20 are key to our business strategy. You can expect some exciting announcements on these strategic partnerships as we progress towards product launch in the first half of 2017.
